5 good reasons to study in Nantes

Nantes is a young, lively, growing city and home to more than 120,000 students in higher education. There’s always something going on like concerts, temporary exhibitions, festivals, etc. If you come to study in Nantes, you certainly won't be bored. Nemea has the lowdown.

 

Public transport in Nantes

It’s so easy to get around Nantes as it has great public transport services: the tramway, Busway, Chronobus lines, Navibus river shuttle... Everything is done to make travel easy and protect the environment.

 

 Getting around in Nantes

Carpooling and cycling are also encouraged with programmes like Marguerite, the car-sharing service, and Géovélo, an app to generate bicycle routes. Two main routes (north/south and east/west) are reserved for cyclists.

 

Culture in Nantes

In Nantes, festivals abound: Atlantide, for literature fans, Eurofonik, for world music fans, HIP OPsession for battle fans... There’s something for everyone. There are also large concert halls (Zénith, Cité des congrès), and more intimate locations (le Ferrailleur, le Café sur cour).

 

Where to go out in Nantes?

If you fancy a drink, try out some of the more original bars. At Le Nid, for example, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the 32nd floor of the Tour Bretagne.

Feeling peckish? To eat out without breaking the bank, head to Le Corner by 180g, Crêperie Sainte Croix or Le Pita Pit: you can eat there for less than 10 euros!
