What to do in Grenoble - Gières: cultural and leisure activities

A few kilometres from Gières, is the city of Grenoble packed with cultural venues: theatres, cinemas, concert cafés, clubs and bars.

Are you more of a nature and open spaces person? The Grenoble Metropolis has six natural areas for you to discover, all accessible by public transport: Ile d'Amour, Les Vouillants, L'Ovalie, Les Franges vertes de Seyssins, Parc Hubert Dudebout and La Chartreuse de Prémol.

 

Students in Gières - Grenoble: bars and nightclubs

For nightlife in Grenoble, head to the city centre, it's easily accessible by public transport and is home to many bars and nightclubs for an evening of fun.

The must-do student bars? SOS Apero, Le Bar. This place is a cross between a bar and a club and has plenty to offer: affordable prices, happy hours, beer pong tables and themed evenings. And from 10 pm to 1 am, students are on the dancefloor.

Want to keep the party going? Head to Lamartine on Place Victor Hugo, a club playing a mix of different music.

Looking to refresh before starting a new week of classes? You're in the right place. Grenoble is close to several ski resorts, including Chamrousse, which can be reached by car or bus in under and hour. The rates are affordable and a change of scenery is guaranteed.

If you're not a fan of skiing or snowboarding, you can enjoy other winter sports such as snowshoeing, skating, sledging or even hiking. There are no less than 865 km of marked trails in the Grenoble metropolitan area. There really is something for everyone: green hills, steep cliffs, lakes, waterfalls and discovery trails.
