Practical information for renting a student apartment

Housing subsidies

All NEMEA Appart'Etud residences are entitled to ALS (social housing allowance).

The amount of the allowance depends on the study of your file by the CAF. Several criteria are taken into account for the calculation of the ALS:

Your benefits take effect on the first day of the month following your entry into the accommodation.

For example, if you move in between 1st September and 30th September, your housing benefits will take effect on 1st October and will be paid the following month.

From 1st January 2011, the housing allowance is due from the first day of the calendar month following the month in which the conditions for entitlement are met.

When the conditions of entitlement are met before the month of application, the allowance is due from the first day of the month in which the application is made. Do not delay in applying for housing aid to avoid losing benefits.

To receive aid, the rental agreement must be in the tenant's name (except for non-emancipated minors) and the tenant must actually occupy the dwelling as their principal residence.

If you are under 20 years old and your parents still receive family allowances for you, you will not be able to claim both allowances.

Housing insurance

Housing insurance is mandatory, otherwise the rental contract will be terminated. It is imperative and must be in force no later than the day of the entrance inventory.

NEMEA Appart'Etud offers student priced multi-risk home insurance.
